Hi Rich People!
As promised I am back with a post on how I preserve my rich mindset with my self-care plan. Just so I can bring you all up to speed while being honest. This is the first self-care plan that I have ever made and I am by no means an expert on mental health… only my own.
Let me start at the beginning
I have never created a wellness self-care plan nor have I ever followed one, but what I have done is do things that have made me happy. When I get overwhelmed I take a nap, find a good romance novel to read to escape, journal, watch a movie or show on Netflix or Amazon Prime, cook, go shopping just to name a few things. As I was composing my self-care plan I realized that I was already doing things that would be in my self-care plan that helps me decompress and return to my center.
Latisha (Tish) Carr, who is a life coach, self-proclaimed dream advocate, as well as the Creator and Founder of Where Do You Dream and State Of Our 20’s. Tish was the guest speaker at an event called Straight Outta College at Marshall University, where she spoke about herself, knowing “WHY” we do what we do, creating our own opportunities, and evaluating our circle. At this event is where I signed up for Tish’s email list. Once I was on her email list I received an email discussing the importance of mental health.
In Tish’s email, she assigned some homework to me. She wanted me to create a self-care plan and provided me with an example to follow. Now I will admit that at first I thought I was good and that I did not need to do anything like creating a self-care plan. For what, I said to myself. A couple of days later, I watched Tish’s story on Instagram as she talked about mental health and how she had been feeling lately when she realized that she was not following her mental health self-care plan. In listening to her speak I could also identify with some of her feeling, do to my own personal reasons. This was when I decided to take the time to sit down and actually write out everything that I do to make myself happy and to decompress in a self-care plan.
While composing my self-care plan
I thought about everything that makes me happy and helps me decompress. After I had this list, I put them in to a time frame of when I would execute them be it daily, weekly, monthly or when I have money to do so.
Like I mentioned before I am no expert by any means, but I did want to share this with you all. As I said before and will continue to do so, I am no expert but Tish is. Until next time with Richness,
